The Open Compute Project (OCP) Foundation would like to introduce a new event to the list of OCP events--OCP Technology Day. An OCP Technology day will focus on enabling software solutions on OCP Hardware.
Registration is now open for the first OCP Technology Day. This event will take place from 10am to 6pm on Tuesday, 30 August 2016 at Facebook in Menlo Park, California. Speakers from Facebook, Canonical and Red Hat will focus on deploying and running scale-out software such as Openstack, GlusterFS, Metal-as-a-Service and others.
Join us and learn how you and your organization can optimize your infrastructures and minimize cost by taking advantage of open software running on open hardware. Special speakers from Google and Microsoft will also speak about unique challenges surrounding running servers and storage at massive scales.

This event is free and open to the public, but registration is required. Limited seating is available. We will maintain a waitlist for this event.

Title: Open CloudServer vNext – Architecture of the next platform system including compute and storage Abstract: Abstract: Microsoft Azure's Cloud Server Infrastructure team has been standardizing its server designs for years now with its first contributions of the Open CloudServer to Open Compute Project over two years ago. Going forward Microsoft is re-vamping it's Open CloudServer vNext architecture with a system that is more modular, flexible and lower cost than before. Focused on EIA 19" rack deployments, OCS vNext has been designed to better meet the widely varying needs of the OCP community. OCS vNext will be contributed early in the design cycle, long before completion allowing the OCP community opportunity to build upon and work plans for delivery. In this session, you'll be provided an overview of the system and features along with the plan for rolling out to the OCP community. . |

Red Hat will explore Open Source software and hardware for enterprise compute - OpenStack, ManageIQ.org, Ceph.org, Gluster.org, and Ansible. In addition, we will go into detail how our hardware certification fits in this enterprise.
